Berths

Berths are the water spots boats moor in. Ownership and occupancy are tracked separately — owning a berth and lying in it are different things.

Occupancy is reservations

Who lies in a berth is decided by date-based reservations, not a static assignment. A berth's calendar shows its reservations over time; today's occupant is simply the reservation covering today.

Ownership and renting out

A berth can have an owner (a member) independent of who occupies it. Owners can offer their berth for rent in periods — rentable windows — and the harbor can book other boats into those windows.

Booking

Book from the berth's detail panel or through “Find berth for boat” on the map. Bookings have a kind (seasonal, guest, …), a date span and an optional connected member and boat. Overlaps are prevented by the system.

Berth colors on the map

The Berths tab has two sub-lenses, each with its own palette (the in-app legend always matches the active one).

Rentals — availability at a glance:

Available — offered and free for the spanOccupied — a boat is physically in the berthReserved — a booking claims the spanNot offered
  • Ownership — who owns what: yellow (#F9B400) marks owned berths, bright red (#FF2D2D) marks owners with overdue invoices, white is unowned.
  • Selecting a berth darkens its fill so the selection reads in every color state.

Berth types

Berths carry a category — used by waiting lists, filters and pricing. Each type has its accent color on badges and pickers:
